Martin Damm holds a substantial edge in the Winston-Salem Open round-of-64 matchup on outdoor hard courts, driven by his ATP ranking of 94 compared to Shelbayh’s 253 and stronger recent results. Damm posted a career-high ranking in August 2026 and enters with an overall 7-11 record that includes a semifinal run earlier in the year, while Shelbayh’s form remains limited with a 4-13 mark and no titles. The pair met previously on hard courts in Washington qualifying, where Damm prevailed in three sets after dropping the opener. Bettors reflect this gap through heavy consensus on Damm, citing his serve consistency, experience at ATP 250 level, and home-soil comfort as decisive factors against a lower-ranked opponent still seeking consistent breakthroughs.
