Yanki Erel enters the Istanbul Challenger second round as the home favorite on outdoor hard courts, backed by strong recent momentum including a title run at the M25 Roda de Bara and a quarterfinal appearance in Samsun. The Turkish player, ranked near the low 300s, defeated Denis Yevseyev in the opener and benefits from familiar conditions plus crowd support. Gijs Brouwer, whose ranking has fallen below 1,100 after limited success in 2025-26, scraped past Manas Dhamne in a three-setter but continues to show inconsistent results on the Challenger circuit. Traders price Erel as the clear favorite due to form, surface familiarity, and home-soil edge, though Brouwer’s experience at higher levels keeps an upset possibility open in this best-of-three format.
