Recent polling shows Democrats holding a substantial lead over Republicans among young men (ages 18-29) on the generic congressional ballot for the 2026 midterms, with margins ranging from 12 to 30 points among registered or likely voters. This positioning stems from falling approval for the Trump administration among this group—now underwater by more than 30 points—alongside priorities like inflation, housing costs, and concerns over perceived corruption or overreach. Young men who backed Republicans in 2024 appear more likely to sit out the midterms than the next presidential contest, while undecided voters and shifts among moderates and some Trump voters bolster the Democratic edge. Trader consensus reflected in current odds aligns with these patterns from multiple 2026 surveys.
