The April 2026 shortlist announcement established Tanoa Sasraku, Kira Freije, Marguerite Humeau, and Simeon Barclay as the sole contenders for the Turner Prize, with Sasraku holding a modest market edge at 26.5% implied probability. Traders appear to weigh Sasraku’s installations engaging corporate and political themes most favorably, while Freije’s figurative sculpture and Humeau’s large-scale works draw comparable support based on recent solo presentations. Barclay trails slightly, reflecting the distinct profile of his performance piece amid a shortlist heavy on sculpture and installation. With the exhibition opening at MIMA on September 26 and the winner revealed December 10, upcoming critical response and public viewing will likely drive any shifts in the closely contested field.
