This market will resolve to "Yes" if any player records more than 2,105 rushing yards during the 2026-27 NFL regular season, thereby breaking the NFL single-season rushing yards record. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The NFL single-season rushing yards record is 2,105, set by Eric Dickerson in 1984. Matching the record exactly will not be sufficient; a player must exceed 2,105 rushing yards for this market to resolve to "Yes". Only regular season games count. Playoff games, including Wild Card, Divisional, Conference Championship, and Pro Football Championship games, do not count. A player's total is the total he records across all of his 2026-27 NFL regular season games, including games played for more than one team. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is shortened, truncated, or ends early for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available official data for completed games. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined whether any player exceeded 2,105 rushing yards within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "50-50". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Recent developments keep the market balanced at even odds.** Eric Dickerson’s 2,105-yard mark from 1984 remains untouched, with Saquon Barkley’s 2,005 yards in 2024 the closest recent approach and James Cook’s league-leading 1,621 in 2025 falling well short. Top 2026 candidates—Jonathan Taylor, Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, and James Cook—project for heavy workloads in run-oriented offenses, yet historical data shows even elite backs rarely sustain the 350-plus carries and efficiency needed to threaten the record. Key variables include running back durability across a 17-game schedule, shifts in offensive schemes or quarterback health that alter run volume, and any late-season push by a workhorse back on a contending team. A single injury or committee approach could quickly tilt sentiment against a record-breaking campaign.
