The 2026 Primera Nacional season features 36 teams split across two zones, with promotion determined through zone winners advancing to a final plus extensive playoffs, which keeps title contention wide open midway through the campaign. Current group leaders Ferro Carril Oeste and Gimnasia y Esgrima (Jujuy) hold narrow edges in points but face long paths through knockout stages, while mid-table sides like Ciudad de Bolívar, Deportivo Morón, and Colón remain within striking distance on recent results and goal difference. This structure, combined with roughly even remaining fixtures and the inherent unpredictability of Argentine second-division play, has produced tight trader consensus across dozens of contenders rather than consolidating around a handful of frontrunners.
