Ryota Tanuma holds a modest edge in this ITF M25 Taipei 2 first-round matchup on hard courts, reflecting greater recent consistency and ATP ranking proximity despite both players sitting outside the top 1300. The 30-year-old Japanese veteran enters with an 18-10 win-loss mark in the latest stretch, including strong showings in regional ITF events, while 22-year-old Taiwanese Kai-I Wang posts a 10-10 record marked by inconsistency and early exits. Surface familiarity in Taipei favors neither decisively, though Tanuma’s experience at this level and head-to-head patterns in lower-tier events typically translate to steadier serving and rally tolerance. No major injuries or withdrawals have been reported ahead of the August 25 contest.
