Andres Andrade, the second seed and higher-ranked Ecuadorian at approximately No. 243, faced fourth-seeded Mexican Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez in the Kingston 2 Challenger semifinal on outdoor hard courts. Andrade entered with a stronger recent win rate (around 61% over the prior year) and five career titles compared to Pacheco Mendez’s three, while both players competed on a surface suiting their hard-court records. Pacheco Mendez had advanced steadily with straight-set wins over lower-ranked opponents, but Andrade’s superior break-point conversion and head-to-head edge—securing a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory—reflected the narrow ranking gap and form differential that shaped trader consensus on the closely contested matchup.
