Incumbent Democrat Josh Riley holds a commanding position in New York's 19th congressional district ahead of the November 3, 2026, general election. He flipped the seat in 2024 by a narrow margin and has since leveraged strong fundraising exceeding $4.8 million along with a focus on constituent services in this upstate district spanning the Hudson Valley, Catskills, and Southern Tier. The June 23 primaries resolved the field with Riley unopposed on the Democratic side and state Senator Peter Oberacker securing the Republican nomination after a contested primary. Prediction markets price the Democratic outcome near 89 percent, consistent with Riley's incumbency advantages and the district's recent electoral trends, though the seat remains competitive based on historical margins and varying partisan ratings.
