The 2026 college football season is just underway, leaving the receptions race wide open amid a deep group of returning standouts and transfers. Jeremiah Smith at Ohio State enters with proven volume and target share in a high-powered offense, while Miami’s Malachi Toney and Cooper Barkate, Rutgers’ KJ Duff, Oklahoma State’s Wyatt Young, and others like Danny Scudero, Ryan Wingo, and Cam Coleman bring strong prior production and favorable situations. Early statistical leaders such as USC’s Trent Mosley highlight how quickly individual games and usage can shift totals. With multiple spread offenses distributing targets and no clear frontrunner established after limited action, trader pricing reflects broad parity and realistic paths for several players to lead in catches by season’s end.
