Apple’s first foldable iPhone, widely expected to debut as the iPhone Ultra or similar premium model, is slated for announcement at the company’s September 9, 2026 event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Supply-chain reports confirm ongoing low-volume production of a book-style device with a roughly 5.5-inch cover display folding out to a 7.6–7.8-inch inner screen, titanium hinge, and minimized crease via advanced OLED panels from Samsung Display. Multiple credible sources place the starting price in the $2,000–$2,500 range, reflecting Apple’s positioning above current Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Google Pixel Fold offerings while incorporating iOS 27 optimizations for dynamic resizing. Limited initial output of a few hundred units per day underscores supply constraints, with pre-orders and shipments likely staggered after the reveal. The event itself represents the key near-term catalyst that could confirm or shift pricing expectations.
