Quentin Halys enters the Cincinnati Open qualifying draw on hard courts after claiming his first ATP Tour title on clay at Kitzbühel in late July, defeating top seed Alexander Bublik in the final with 17 aces. The Frenchman arrives with an 8-2 record in his last 10 matches and a five-match winning streak, currently ranked near No. 54-59. Soon-Woo Kwon, ranked around No. 153, brings recent Challenger success and more immediate hard-court exposure but comes off a three-set loss in Lexington following a marathon effort. The pair has no prior head-to-head meetings. Trader sentiment reflects Halys’ stronger recent momentum and serve dominance as the primary drivers, tempered by the surface switch and Kwon’s ability to extend rallies on outdoor hard.
