The 2026-27 Danish Superliga season opened in late July with an expanded 12-team format featuring a split into championship and relegation rounds after 22 matches. Early results show Sønderjyske, AGF, Silkeborg, OB, Lyngby, and Randers occupying the lower positions after seven rounds, with the bottom two or three ultimately facing relegation to the 1st Division. Form, home/away splits, and squad depth will shape the battle, as newly promoted or rebuilding sides often struggle against established mid-table clubs like Viborg, Horsens, and Nordsjælland. Historical patterns indicate that teams finishing in the relegation group frequently carry points deficits into the final stages, where goal difference and head-to-head results become decisive.
