Rinky Hijikata holds the clear edge in this Winston-Salem Open first-round matchup on outdoor hard courts, backed by his higher ATP ranking near 95 and more extensive professional experience compared to 18-year-old Darwin Blanch at 224. Hijikata enters with a mixed 2026 hard-court record that includes recent wins over Monfils and Darderi in Cincinnati, while Blanch, a left-hander with a 1-2 seasonal mark, has faced tougher opposition in limited main-draw appearances. The Australian’s two-handed backhand and consistency on this surface contrast with Blanch’s developing game, though the American’s height and wildcard status could factor into early-set adjustments. Trader consensus reflects these gaps in form and results heading into the contest.
