Benjamin Bonzi enters this first-round Quebec City Challenger matchup as the clear favorite against Canadian Justin Boulais, reflecting his higher ATP ranking near 100 and career-high of 42 compared to Boulais’s position outside the top 280. Bonzi brings greater experience on outdoor hard courts and a stronger overall professional record, while the pair has no prior head-to-head history. Boulais, a 24-year-old home player, carries underdog potential through local support and recent Challenger-level appearances but faces a sizable gap in consistency and results. The surface and early-round timing favor the higher seed’s serve and baseline game, though any form dips or fatigue could open a narrow window for an upset in best-of-three sets.
