Caitlin Clark and Alyssa Thomas remain locked in a tight contest for the WNBA assists per game lead, with Clark holding a narrow edge in recent per-game averages around 8.2–8.3 while Thomas sits at 8.2 across more appearances. Clark’s playmaking volume for the Indiana Fever, paired with her assist-to-turnover ratio and minutes in a fast-paced offense, underpins trader consensus favoring her slight lead. Thomas’s consistent distribution and defensive contributions for the Phoenix Mercury have kept her within striking distance despite a lower scoring output. Jordin Canada trails further back in third, reflecting solid but lower-volume production for Atlanta. The closely matched top two reflect ongoing season-long form, roster usage patterns, and game schedules that continue to shape final regular-season averages.
