United Russia maintains its commanding position in the September 18–20 State Duma elections through institutional control of candidate registration, ballot access, and legal processes that have sidelined challengers, including the Supreme Court’s removal of Yabloko from the ballot. The party’s congress nominated high-profile figures such as Sergei Lavrov and Sergei Sobyanin alongside war veterans for single-mandate districts, reinforcing its organizational edge. Recent polls indicate United Russia leads but with support below prior levels amid economic pressures and the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, while other parties remain fragmented below thresholds for meaningful gains. Trader consensus reflects these structural barriers, though late developments such as security measures or turnout shifts could still influence final seat distribution in the mixed electoral system.
