This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter award for the 2026 MLB Season. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLB rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLB season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Baseball; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Yordan Alvarez leads the market at 33.5% implied probability due to his dominant mid-2026 production as the Houston Astros’ primary DH, topping MLB with an OPS near 1.093 alongside a .327/.435/.658 slash line, 24 home runs, and elite slugging in roughly 70 games.** This surge reflects his improved durability after prior injury-limited seasons and positions him ahead of historical frontrunners. Kyle Schwarber sits at 21.5% on the strength of his Philadelphia Phillies power output (24 homers, .937 OPS range), consistent plate discipline, and high-leverage contributions that keep him in the top tier of designated hitters. Shohei Ohtani trails at 19.0% despite his five-year award streak through 2025; his current Dodgers DH line (.305/.426/.553, .979 OPS) remains strong but trails the leaders in key rate stats amid a season where preseason projections ranked him first. Lower-probability options such as Salvador Perez and Eugenio Suarez reflect their part-time DH roles or more modest production relative to the top group. Preseason positional rankings had aligned closely with Ohtani, Schwarber, and Alvarez, but recent form—particularly Alvarez’s OPS leadership—has shifted trader consensus toward the current season’s statistical leaders. The award typically hinges on regular-season DH performance, with health, playing time, and advanced metrics like wOBA and slugging driving the positioning.
