The 2026 ACC rushing touchdowns race remains wide open entering the season, with a deep group of proven backs creating a tightly bunched trader consensus. Mark Fletcher Jr. returns to Miami after leading the conference with 1,192 rushing yards and 12 scores in 2025, while Duke’s Nate Sheppard steps into a larger role following his 1,132-yard, 11-touchdown freshman campaign. Transfers like Kendrick Raphael at SMU and established options such as Louisville’s Isaac Brown, Georgia Tech’s Justice Haynes, Pitt’s Ja’Kyrian Turner, and Virginia Tech’s Jekail Middlebrook add further competition. Shared backfields, new offensive schemes, and balanced schedules limit any single player’s path to clear dominance, sustaining the competitive equilibrium reflected in current implied probabilities.
