**Consensus rankings for the 2026 NFL season place Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson at the top of fantasy RB projections, driven by expanded workloads following backfield changes in Detroit and Atlanta.** Gibbs benefits from a clear lead role after David Montgomery's departure, while Robinson's efficiency and receiving volume have improved under new offensive schemes. Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey, James Cook, and De'Von Achane round out early tiers based on projected rushing attempts, receiving work, and touchdown upside in PPR or half-PPR formats. Recent training camp developments include load management for McCaffrey, groin and MCL concerns sidelining Breece Hall and Alvin Kamara initially, plus high-ankle sprains affecting rookies like Jeremiyah Love. Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton have climbed boards as high-upside additions, adding volatility to mid-tier projections ahead of final preseason evaluations and Week 1 injury reports.

Only regular-season games count; postseason (playoff) games are excluded. If two or more running backs are tied such that more than 12 would qualify for the top 12, the tie will be broken by higher fantasy points per game average for the 2026 NFL regular season, and if a tie still persists, by last name in alphabetical order, so that exactly 12 running backs are classified as top 12.
If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed past January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or the rankings cannot be determined within this timeframe, all markets in this event will resolve to "No".
The resolution source will be official season-total statistics as reported by ESPN Fantasy Sports (https://www.espn.com/fantasy/).
