The 2026 Big 12 passing yards race sits in a dead heat because the conference features roughly a dozen viable candidates with comparable experience, supporting casts, and offensive opportunities. Returning starters such as Arizona’s Noah Fifita, BYU’s Bear Bachmeier, Utah’s Devon Dampier, and Houston’s Conner Weigman bring proven volume from prior seasons, while transfers like Oklahoma State’s Drew Mestemaker (FBS leader in passing yards the prior year), Baylor’s DJ Lagway, TCU’s Jaden Craig, and Arizona State’s Cutter Boley inject fresh high-upside arms into new schemes. Depth across the league, varied run-pass balances, and an open title chase mean no single quarterback enters with a decisive edge in projected attempts or efficiency, keeping implied probabilities tightly clustered.
