Mili Poljicak enters the Augsburg Challenger first-round match as the slight favorite, holding the higher ATP ranking at No. 264 compared to Max Schoenhaus at No. 318. The Croatian has posted strong recent results on clay, including a runner-up finish at the San Marino Challenger in early August and consistent wins in qualifying and main-draw matches leading into this event. Schoenhaus, a 19-year-old German, brings home-soil familiarity and experience from prior Augsburg appearances but has a more mixed 2026 clay record with limited deep Challenger runs. No prior head-to-head exists, and both players favor clay, making serve efficiency, break-point conversion, and stamina key variables in what projects as a competitive opener.
