Mattingly's prior managerial tenure with the Dodgers and Marlins, along with the club's subsequent series-winning form under his steady approach, supports trader expectations for a permanent role. Alex Cora follows at 21.9% amid reports of his availability following the Red Sox's managerial change and insider assessments naming him the leading external candidate for 2027. Daniel Descalso, Will Venable, and other internal or coaching options trail as the front office evaluates long-term fits amid ongoing roster and performance evaluations.
