Melo and Zverev, a veteran doubles specialist paired with a top singles player, captured their first title together at the 2026 Acapulco event but have shown inconsistent results since, including a first-round exit in Montreal. In contrast, Luz and Matos enter with strong recent momentum after claiming their maiden Masters 1000 crown in Montreal on hard courts, defeating top seeds Arévalo and Pavić in the final, and securing multiple titles earlier in the season on the ATP circuit. Both Brazilian pairings bring extensive doubles experience on outdoor hard courts, with Luz/Matos demonstrating superior current form and chemistry while Zverev balances a demanding singles schedule. Head-to-head records remain limited, leaving recent title-winning trajectories and hard-court adaptation as the dominant factors shaping implied probabilities in this round-of-16 matchup.
