Patrick Schoen enters the Porto hard-court matchup as the clear market favorite against 32-year-old Bolivian Boris Arias, reflecting a substantial ranking gap (Schoen near 500 versus Arias outside the top 1,200) and age differential. The 21-year-old Swiss has compiled a strong 2026 hard-court record, including multiple wins in recent Portuguese ITF events, while Arias focuses primarily on doubles and has posted limited singles success with several first-round qualifier exits. Schoen’s experience on the surface and familiarity with Portuguese conditions further shape trader consensus, though late scratches or fatigue from the summer schedule remain the main variables that could shift implied probabilities.
