Soon-Woo Kwon faces Shintaro Mochizuki in the opening round of the Quebec City Challenger on hard courts, with both players ranked inside the top 160 and carrying recent momentum into the match. Kwon, at No. 152, has secured three Challenger titles in 2026 and advanced through qualifying at Wimbledon before his military discharge in July, posting a solid 6-4 record over his past ten outings. Mochizuki, ranked No. 112, reached the fourth round at Wimbledon for his career-best Grand Slam result and holds a slight edge in recent head-to-head results. The closely matched field favors the player who maintains serve efficiency and adapts quickest to indoor conditions, as late scratches or fatigue from the North American swing remain the main variables that could shift outcomes.
