Martin Damm holds the edge in this Winston-Salem Open qualifying matchup on outdoor hard courts, backed by a higher ATP ranking near 94 versus Shelbayh’s position around 253 and a recent head-to-head win in Washington. Damm’s recent form includes competitive sets against stronger opponents alongside straight-set victories, while Shelbayh has posted occasional upsets but struggles with consistency on the main tour. The pair’s prior encounter went three sets with Damm prevailing in the tiebreak, highlighting his edge in closing out tight matches. As the final ATP 250 stop before the US Open, both players seek ranking points, though Damm’s experience and current form position him as the clearer favorite in trader pricing for advancement.
