This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by WNBA rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 WNBA season is cancelled, postponed after October 7, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the Women’s National Basketball Association; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Gabby Williams has pulled ahead as the clear frontrunner in the 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year market after anchoring the Golden State Valkyries’ league-leading defense through the All-Star break and beyond. Her versatility has produced elite on-ball results against perimeter stars, the second-highest steal rate, and the third-best opponent field-goal percentage when she serves as the primary defender. A’ja Wilson remains the closest challenger on the strength of her blocks leadership and individual defensive impact, yet the Las Vegas Aces sit outside the top five in team defensive rating. Lower-probability names such as Ezi Magbegor, Napheesa Collier, and Breanna Stewart trail further behind amid less dominant team or individual defensive metrics in the current standings. Recent midseason award consensus and betting-market movement have reinforced Williams’ positioning while leaving room for late-season shifts in team defense or individual counting stats.
