This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 Sinquefield Cup, currently scheduled for August 8, 2026 to August 21, 2026. If this tournament is postponed after September 4, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, canceled, or a winner has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other." If multiple players are declared winner, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizer, the Grand Chess Tour (https://grandchesstour.org/tours/2026/tournaments/2026-sinquefield-cup/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The Sinquefield Cup 2026, set to begin August 10 in St. Louis as the Grand Chess Tour’s classical finale, features an elite field where Fabiano Caruana’s slight edge in implied probability reflects his world No. 3 ranking, consistent recent classical results, and GCT points lead entering the event. Javokhir Sindarov’s strong positioning stems from his high rating and momentum as a Candidates winner, while Wesley So, Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, Vincent Keymer, and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave remain tightly bunched due to comparable FIDE ratings in the mid-2750s to 2770s and proven classical form. The race stays competitive because the 10-player round-robin emphasizes small margins in a draw-prone format, with home familiarity for several Americans, recent rapid/blitz performances offering limited predictive value, and no major withdrawals or injuries altering the lineup beyond Alireza Firouzja’s absence. Trader consensus thus prices multiple realistic contenders with upset potential across the two-week classical schedule.
