Kazakhstan’s August 23, 2026, Kurultai elections mark the first legislative vote under the new single-chamber constitution that replaced the bicameral parliament with a 145-seat body elected entirely by party-list proportional representation. In June 2026 the ruling Amanat party’s congress unanimously approved accession to the recently registered Adilet party, a move ratified days later by Adilet delegates; the merged organization retains Adilet’s name and leadership under Aibek Dädebai, a former presidential-administration head. Adilet has since held its extraordinary congress, adopted an election program, and fielded a full candidate list. These steps consolidated the pro-presidential bloc ahead of the vote, producing the trader consensus reflected in the 93 percent implied probability that Adilet will secure a majority of seats.
