Persistent cloud cover, light rain, and northeasterly flow from official Japan Meteorological Agency guidance are anchoring trader expectations for a Tokyo high near 24°C on September 5, 2026. Multiple model runs and station observations through midday show temperatures climbing only to the low-to-mid 20s under overcast skies, consistent with early-September climatology where seasonal cooling and frequent moisture suppress peaks well below August norms. This consensus supports the market’s heaviest weighting on 23–25°C outcomes while leaving limited room for brief clearing that could push readings to 26°C or higher. Updated afternoon guidance and any shift in steering patterns remain the key near-term variables.
