Ismael Burgueño Ruiz leads the market at 43.5% as Tijuana mayor and frontrunner in Morena’s internal selection for the 2027 Baja California gubernatorial nomination, ahead of Fernando Castro Trenti and Julieta Ramírez Padilla. With the general election more than a year away, trader odds reflect a fragmented field of nine registered Morena contenders plus potential opposition challengers, where no candidate has secured a commanding position. Recent internal polling shows Burgueño ahead but with support in the low-to-mid 20s percent range, while ongoing party negotiations and isolated reports of political friction among aspirants have kept probabilities compressed. Scheduled steps in Morena’s candidate selection process and any shifts in state-level surveys could widen gaps before the nomination is finalized.
