Anton Matusevich, the higher-ranked British player with a career-high near No. 342, faces French left-hander Constantin Bittoun Kouzmine in the Roehampton 2 Challenger first round on hard courts. Matusevich enters with strong recent hard-court results, including multiple wins in Roehampton events this month, while Kouzmine arrives off a mixed run of Challenger results in Turkey. Kouzmine holds a narrow 1-0 head-to-head edge from their 2022 clay meeting and shows modest advantages in second-serve points won and return effectiveness over the past six months. Both players compete at similar ITF/Challenger levels, with the hard surface and home-country support for Matusevich as primary variables in this best-of-three encounter.
