Nikita Mashtakov and Jannik Opitz meet in the final round of qualifying at the Plovdiv 3 Challenger on clay, with the winner advancing to the main draw. Mashtakov, the Ukrainian right-hander ranked around No. 646, enters with stronger recent ITF results on the surface, including multiple three-set victories in Poznan, though he dropped a straight-sets loss to a higher seed. Opitz, the taller left-handed German at No. 828, has posted solid qualifier wins, including a straight-sets victory over Haita in Plovdiv, leveraging his reach and experience from college tennis and recent doubles success. Clay-court movement, serve consistency under pressure, and break-point conversion will likely decide the outcome in this closely matched encounter between two players outside the top 600.
