Sydney Swans host Brisbane Lions in an AFL qualifying final at the SCG, where the closely matched 50.5% implied probability for the Lions reflects Sydney’s home advantage and proven depth offsetting significant absences. Five key Swans—Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, Riley Bice, and James Jordon—face season-long suspensions, removing major ball-winners from a side that still dismantled North Melbourne by 53 points last week. Brisbane enters with strong recent momentum, including dominant wins led by Harris Andrews, Logan Morris, Zac Bailey, Lachie Neale, and Will Ashcroft, plus the return of Hugh McCluggage. The Lions’ 43-point Round 16 victory at the Gabba stands in contrast to Sydney’s earlier home win, underscoring how confirmed lineup changes and finals experience could shift sentiment in either direction.
