The National League playoff picture entering early September 2026 features the Milwaukee Brewers atop the Central with the best record in baseball, the Atlanta Braves leading the East, and the Los Angeles Dodgers atop the West, all positioned for first-round byes. Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs hold firm wild-card spots, while the Arizona Diamondbacks lead the final berth over the San Diego Padres by half a game. Wild-card series matchups pit the Cubs against the Phillies and Diamondbacks against the Dodgers, with winners advancing to NLDS clashes against the Brewers and Braves. Recent form, remaining schedule strength, and any late injuries or roster adjustments will shape which clubs secure the two NLCS berths, as the current implied probabilities reflect crowd consensus on these tightly contested races.
