Barcelona enter the 2026-27 campaign as defending champions with an unbeaten start, heavy scoring output led by Raphinha, and a proven attacking core that has delivered consistent league dominance in recent seasons. Real Madrid sit close behind in the early table under new manager José Mourinho, bolstered by Kylian Mbappé’s goals and squad reinforcements aimed at closing the gap. Atlético Madrid and Real Betis occupy mid-table positions after four matches, while surprise early performers like Alavés lack the depth and schedule resilience to challenge the established order over 38 rounds. Champions League commitments, winter transfers, and potential injuries remain key variables that could shift momentum, though historical patterns strongly favor the same two clubs occupying the top spots by May.
