The 2026–27 HNL season remains in its opening weeks, with early results highlighting parity across the chasing pack behind title favorite Dinamo Zagreb. Varaždin and Osijek have posted strong starts with multiple wins and positive goal difference, while Hajduk Split and Rijeka maintain solid records amid roster adjustments and European commitments. Historical patterns show these clubs routinely battle for second place when Dinamo dominates, and the compressed fixture list plus a lengthy international break limit separation. No single side has established consistent dominance or suffered decisive setbacks, leaving trader consensus pricing multiple contenders with comparable implied probabilities for the runner-up spot.
