Arizona Diamondbacks (73-66) visit the last-place Kansas City Royals (62-76) for a three-game set at Kauffman Stadium beginning September 7. The Royals enter with strong momentum after winning 12 of their final 14 games in August and extending a seven-game home winning streak, fueled by a .320 team batting average and power from Jac Caglianone during that stretch. Kansas City’s rotation has stabilized around arms like Randy Dobnak despite broader injury issues. Arizona, meanwhile, sits third in the NL West but carries a depleted pitching staff, with Corbin Burnes, Zac Gallen, Ryne Nelson, and others on the injured list, forcing reliance on the bullpen and depth options. Recent form shows the Diamondbacks at 5-5 over their last 10 games, while home/away splits and inter-league history offer limited predictive edge for this matchup.
