Valentin Royer holds the ranking edge at No. 75 over qualifier Dalibor Svrcina at No. 134 entering their US Open first-round clash on outdoor hard courts. Royer arrives with fresh momentum after capturing the Kingston Challenger title, offsetting his limited 4-18 tour-level record this season, while Svrcina advanced through qualifying with a decisive final-round win over Mackenzie McDonald. The pair’s head-to-head favors Svrcina 2-0, though both prior meetings occurred on clay at Challenger level with no hard-court history between them. Royer’s greater experience at Grand Slams and higher career-high ranking contribute to market pricing that reflects a near-even contest shaped by surface transition and recent form.
