Rhyne Howard of the Atlanta Dream has established a clear edge in the steals-per-game race through consistent high-volume defensive production, currently averaging 2.4 steals across 32 games while logging heavy minutes as a perimeter defender and All-Star. Her career-high rate stems from strong hands, anticipation, and Atlanta’s defensive schemes that funnel opportunities her way, with recent multi-steal outings reinforcing the lead. Jordin Canada, her teammate, sits second at 2.0 steals per game on similar playing time but trails noticeably. Chennedy Carter’s elevated market share reflects prior reputation and scoring efficiency from limited 2026 appearances before her July waiver by the Las Vegas Aces, though her actual steal output remained modest at 0.8 per game. Lower-probability names like Bridget Carleton and Ariel Atkins post lower rates on smaller samples and different roles, while the rest of the field trails further behind in verified per-game averages. Trader consensus appears anchored in Howard’s sustained statistical advantage and the limited remaining schedule for significant shifts.

In the event of a tie for the highest steals per game average, this market will resolve in favor of the player who appeared in the greater number of games. If the tied players also played the same number of games, the market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
Qualification for inclusion in official WNBA leaderboards (such as minimum games or statistical thresholds) will be determined according to WNBA rules and applied exactly as reflected in the official leaderboard.
If the 2026 WNBA regular season is cancelled, postponed after October 8, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or if an official leader has not been declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be the WNBA (https://stats.wnba.com/players/traditional/).
