This market will resolve to "Yes" if a Western team beats a team from the LCK, LPL, or LCP in a best-of-five series during the 2026 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2026), currently scheduled for October 15 to November 14, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A Western team is a team that qualified for the tournament through the LEC (Europe / EMEA), the LCS (North America), or the CBLOL (Brazil). Teams that qualified through the LCK (South Korea), the LPL (China), or the LCP (Asia-Pacific) are not Western teams. Only best-of-five series count toward this market; best-of-one and best-of-three matches, tiebreakers, and showmatches do not count. A team beats another team in a best-of-five series only if it wins the series (three game wins); individual game wins within a series that the team loses do not count. Play-In Stage series count toward this market, as do Knockout Stage series. If the results of Worlds 2026 are not determined by November 28, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the tournament is canceled or postponed past that date, this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizer, Riot Games, via the LoL Esports website (https://lolesports.com). However, a consensus of credible reporting (e.g., Liquipedia at https://liquipedia.net/leagueoflegends/World_Championship/2026) may also be used. The closely contested 52.5% implied probability for a Western upset in a best-of-five stems primarily from Global Power Rankings positioning LEC standouts like G2 and Karmine Corp near several LCK and LPL mid-tier squads, alongside LCS depth gains and mixed recent international results where European sides posted competitive game records against Eastern opposition. LCK powerhouses including Hanwha Life Esports, Gen.G, and T1 plus LPL contenders like Bilibili Gaming retain clear edges in roster experience and regional dominance, yet the expanded 19-team field and Swiss-stage format create matchup volatility. Roster stability, patch adaptations favoring aggressive Western playstyles, or Eastern fatigue from extended playoffs could shift sentiment, while sustained Eastern execution in knockouts would reinforce historical barriers.
