Recent polling shows the Parti Québécois holding a narrow lead or statistical tie with the Coalition Avenir Québec ahead of the October 5 election, while the Parti Libéral du Québec trails in overall support but maintains concentrated strength in Montreal and among anglophone and allophone voters. This regional concentration supports trader consensus around the PLQ for second place, as seat projections from models like 338Canada and Poliwave consistently place Liberals ahead of the CAQ in the National Assembly despite lower popular vote shares. Late-campaign volatility, including a Synopsis poll showing CAQ gains from PLQ supporters amid U.S. trade tensions, multiple three-way races, and limited francophone backing for the Liberals, keeps outcomes for second place closely contested across several parties. Upcoming debate performances and further regional polling could shift positioning before election day.
