Kimi Antonelli’s commanding 2026 drivers’ championship lead stems from six victories and six poles in the first 12 rounds, including a five-race winning streak from China through Monaco that built an early points cushion. Mercedes’ strong car pace and the Italian’s qualifying edge over teammate George Russell have sustained his advantage, even after reliability-related DNFs in Barcelona and Britain trimmed the buffer. Recent form shows Norris claiming the last two grands prix while Antonelli recovered podiums in Hungary and the Netherlands, keeping him 59 points clear of Russell and Hamilton with 11 rounds remaining. Traders price Antonelli as the clear favorite because his consistency, pole conversion rate, and Mercedes package have proven difficult for Ferrari and McLaren challengers to overcome consistently.
