Hanyi Liu faces Kaichi Uchida in the first round of the Zhangjiagang Challenger on outdoor hard courts. The 25-year-old Chinese player enters with strong recent form, winning 7 of his last 10 matches primarily at the ITF M15 level, including straight-set victories over Xing Dao Chen and others in local events. Uchida, the higher-ranked Japanese veteran at approximately No. 270, brings greater experience and a career record above .500 but arrives in poor form with no wins in his prior 10 outings across Challenger events. No prior head-to-head exists. Market pricing reflects a near-even contest, balancing Uchida’s ranking and hard-court history against Liu’s momentum and home-soil advantage in a low-tier draw where recent results and serve-return tendencies weigh heavily on implied probabilities.
