Dricus Du Plessis’s recent unanimous decision win over Kamaru Usman at UFC Oklahoma City in July has repositioned the former middleweight champion as a live title contender once more, yet the absence of any confirmed next matchup has left the market fragmented. With Sean Strickland holding the belt after upsetting Khamzat Chimaev, and Chimaev himself naming Du Plessis among possible opponents alongside Nassourdine Imavov and others, traders see multiple realistic paths—ranging from a third fight with Strickland to a rematch with Chimaev or a bout against another ranked middleweight. The even distribution across numerous outcomes reflects this uncertainty in the division’s ordering, where recent form, prior head-to-head results, and UFC matchmaking priorities all remain in flux without an official announcement.
