Rams and Seahawks enter the 2026 season as the NFC’s clearest frontrunners, carrying the strongest rosters and recent playoff pedigree after Seattle’s Super Bowl appearance and Los Angeles’s consistent contention. Preseason projections highlight their offensive and defensive balance, favorable schedules, and depth that supports advancing past the wild-card round. In the North, Lions and Packers face a competitive race with quarterback stability and defensive upgrades as key variables. The East remains Eagles-led but features Cowboys and Giants with new coaching influences that could alter trajectories. South projections show a wide-open group where eight-win teams may claim the division and a playoff spot. Training-camp injury reports and early regular-season results will quickly shift implied probabilities for reaching the divisional round.
