The September 10 nomination announcements for the 60th CMA Awards established a tight five-way race for New Artist of the Year, with Tucker Wetmore holding a narrow market edge at 46% implied probability and Stephen Wilson Jr. close behind at 41%. Wetmore benefits from his prior ACM win in the category and sustained chart presence, while Wilson Jr. gained traction from four total nods—including Song and Music Video of the Year for “Gary”—plus a timely new single release marking a personal milestone. Avery Anna, Emily Ann Roberts, and Carter Faith trail at 17%, 9.5%, and 6% respectively, reflecting narrower radio penetration and fewer precursor signals despite strong critical and fan engagement. Traders are watching streaming metrics, fall tour momentum, and any late voter sentiment shifts ahead of the November 18 ceremony, where historical patterns show this category can reward breakout visibility or established industry favor.
