Jodie Burrage and Guiomar Maristany meet in the first round of US Open women's singles qualifying on hard courts. Burrage, a 27-year-old Brit with a career-high ranking of No. 85, enters after a solid run of ITF hard-court results in 2026, including multiple wins in W35 events leading into the event. Maristany, the 27-year-old Spaniard ranked around No. 165-168, brings recent main-draw experience from the 2026 Australian Open and WTA-level wins, though her form has been inconsistent on faster surfaces. Both players have limited prior success at this level of Grand Slam qualifying, making recent match fitness, serve effectiveness, and adaptation to New York conditions the primary variables for traders assessing implied probabilities.
