The Chicago White Sox lead the AL Central at 64-58 after taking the first two games of this three-game series at Comerica Park, extending their division advantage to 4.5 games over the 60-63 Detroit Tigers. Chicago’s recent power surge, including four home runs in the series opener, has offset a mixed August while the Tigers’ strong midseason form has cooled amid the losses. Official injury reports list multiple absences on both sides, including Detroit pitchers on the IL, which could influence bullpen usage and starting matchups. Home-field factors at Comerica and the Tigers’ need to avoid a sweep in a tight playoff race represent the primary variables shaping trader views on the outcome.
